The Amniotic Perforator is anatomically shaped to make the hook more versatile and easier to use. The perforator has been designed to make the membrane easily accessible by following the body's anatomical shape.
The single moulded design ensures optimum efficiency and additional prevention of injury to the patient when used. The rounded tip and protected hook simply engages and ruptures the membrane, saving the need to prod or puncture, therefore reducing chance of injury to the foetus.
The Amniotic Perforator is used for the treatment of safely rupturing the amniotic membranes during the Amniotomy procedure. This is performed in transient use during vaginal examination and monitoring as part of labour management by a doctor or midwife.
